Technical Project Manager
Overview
Technical Project manager is responsible to organize, lead and manage projects from inception to completion. Accountable for managing Scope, Time, Budget and Risk Mitigation of assigned projects. Work closely with project team, customers, internal and external stakeholders and function as a central point of contact for all project related information.
Essential Functions
Project Management
- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope. Minimizes exposure and risk on project
- Prepares and communicates project status and progress to internal and external team members.
Project Accounting
- Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
- Manages project budget.
- Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing and monitors receivables for project.
- Analyzes project revenue, bill rates and utilization.
Financial management
- Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost to completion projects and makes decisions accordingly.
- Accurately forecasts revenue, bill rates and utilization.
- Assures project legal documents are completed and signed.
Business Development
- Identifies business development, extensions and add-on sales opportunities related to a specific project.
- Leads proposal efforts including completing project scoping.
Communication
- Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
- Holds regular status meetings with project team.
- Keeps project team well informed of changes within the client organization and general news.
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Delivers engaging, informative and well-organized presentations.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely manner.
Required Experience and Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree, with a technology or business emphasis, or equivalent education/experience.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities; management experience preferred.
- 4+ years Experience in technology with 2+ years in technical project management and 2+ years required project management experience (outlined below).
Project Management Skills - Required
- Technical Project Management of software related projects
- Proficiency with Project Management tools; spreadsheets or other
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Technical Skills - Preferred
- Knowledge of Core Oracle Universal Content Management [UCM] (HTML, SQL, Idoc Script)
- Knowledge of Site Studio/Web Content Management [WCM on top of UCM] (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML/XSLT)
- Knowledge of Portal [Web Center, Web Center Interaction, LifeRay, WebSphere] (J2EE)
- Some knowledge of web and application server technologies including IIS, Apache Web Server and Tomcat.

- Self-starter, results oriented, able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Must demonstrate good judgment, tact, and a clear purpose while under pressure in a very dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong administrative/organizational skills (ability to effectively prioritize, manage time, and meet deadlines on multiple projects).
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
