An industry leader in inspection and metrology tools was in the process of migrating from Pro/INTRALINK 3.x to Pro/INTRALINK 9.x. They had used both the “Promote on Check-in” and the “Briefcase” feature in Pro/INTRALINK 3.x to gather disparate objects in order to submit them on a common promotion form.
Gathering objects into a common promotion form in Pro/INTRALINK 9.x is time consuming and difficult. The user is limited to combining objects that are in the same folder or are accumulated in the same search results. This results in many iterations of searching, copying and collecting objects that may be spread across folder structures and products. Search and collecting disparate items is a time consuming and error prone procedure that requires several dozen steps in multiple user interfaces.
Leveraging Fishbowl’s Baseline Promote solution, they were able to replace the manual process with the ability to initiate a promotion request with the contents of a Pro/INTRALINK Baseline. Baselines can now be automatically created upon check-in or may easily be created and modified at some later time.
