Fishbowl 11g Upgrade & Migration Offering

Timeframe: 3 weeks

Architecture, Configuration & Metadata / Taxonomy Review
Fishbowl Solutions UCM experts review and report on your information architecture, content server configuration, and metadata design.

Customization Health Check
Fishbowl will check your current version of custom components and will review and report on the analysis of the impact migration will have on those components.

Install of UCM 11g (1 Instance)
Fishbowl will install and configure one instance of UCM 11g. Licenses for UCM and all requisite software and hardware provided by customer.

Fishbowl Solutions Content Migrator / Enterprise BatchLoader
You will receive a license for Fishbowl's supported migration software, Content Migrator or Enterprise BatchLoader, whichever is most appropriate to your environment.  

Content Migration up to 5K items
Fishbowl will migrate up to 5,000 of your content items onto your upgraded 11g instance.
Fishbowl will work with you to decide which 5,000 content items you would like to have migrated.

Comprehensive Data Transfer Plan
Documentation & Data Transfer Plan: Fishbowl will provide your organization with a detailed plan on how to get any remainder of your content, configuration, and components moved to 11g.  Transfer plan allows you to incrementally migrate information at your pace on your own or with us!   Knowledge Transfer: We will work with your administration staff to ensure that they understand how to use the new features of 11g in their newly upgraded system.

WCM site migration:
If you use Web Content Management (WCM) with your 11g content server Fishbowl can help you get your site running on 11g.
We offer a migration service to migrate one website up to 300 pages.
We will also provide documentation on how to get the remainder of the web content migrated should you have multiple web sites and/or more than 300 pages.

Workflow / Process Review and migration
For customers using UCM's Workflow and Process-Review features, Fishbowl can help you get the configurations and settings from your previous version of content server migrated into UCM 11g.

Integration & Messaging for 11g
For customers with UCM integrations to other systems, we have a focused, 1 week integration health check and migration recommendation offering. Analysis and report are delivered to define a smooth upgrade process.   Where appropriate, Fishbowl's Subscription Notifier for UCM messaging will be leveraged,

What’s new in 11g?

There are a lot of exciting new features in 11g. Some of the highlights include greater content ingestion rates and scalability, improved desktop integration with Windows Explorer and Microsoft Office, and new features for rich media file conversion including flash video, and Photoshop renditioning. Are there any “gotchas” with UCM 11g?

With version 11g you must have WebLogic server to run the content server.
User administration is now typically handled in the WLS layer.
Custom components should be checked for health.

Can I use my existing apps with 11g?

For the most part, Yes. However, a review of all applications that either connect to or through ECM 11g should be reviewed for configuration correctness.

Where can I get help with upgrading and migration?

Will I still be able to see the content on my website after migrating to 11g?

Yes. Websites pulling information from the content server will still be able to display the content after upgrading to 11g. If you need help, Fishbowl Solutions migration offering includes an optional service, where we will get your website up and running on 11g.

Have Fishbowl’s solutions been tested on 11g?

Yes. Fishbowl Solutions is part of Oracle’s early adopter program. We have had access to the 11g code and our solutions are 11g ready. These include Subscription Notifier, Project Automation Suite, and Fishbowl Portal Integration Suite. We are adding more products every day!

Can I use 11g with portals?

Yes. UCM 11g works with portals. Fishbowl Solution’s Portal Integration Suite will enable UCM 11g to work will any JSR 168 compliant portal technology. Our Portal Integration Suite has been tried and tested on 11g as part of our enrollment in the early adopter program.
