Fishbowl's Building Up UCM Community |
We at Fishbowl Solutions are about building community and sharing knowledge around Oracle UCM.
As a testament of our commitment to the UCM community, we recently held a UCM Learning Event and have an upcoming presentation at OpenWorld 2009 .
On August 26th, we hosted Oracle UCM users in the Minneapolis area to share ways to quickly add value to UCM. In addition to hosting a roundtable discussion on topics like collaboration in UCM, we showed attendees how other Fishbowl customers have been able to make UCM more powerful. Due to the success of this event, we are hosting a follow-on webinar series. Please register to attend a session or to view our presentation on-line.
For the third year, Fishbowl will be at Openworld 2009. We would love to meet with you, so contact us to set up a time.
I hope you enjoy the third edition of The Aquarium.
Sincerely,
Amanda Broman

Oracle WCM Named One of The Best by Gartner |
Gartner reports that Web Content Management (WCM) is one of the “fastest-growing areas of ECM and now accounts for more than 25 percent of the ECM software market.” Oracle has had a strong presence in the WCM market since their acquisition of Stellent in 2007, and was recently named one of the top WCM solutions by Gartner.
Oracle was compared to a variety of WCM solutions including IBM, Microsoft, Open Text, EMC, and many more. The solutions were evaluated on their ability to execute on the completeness of a vision.
Gartner believes “Oracle is well-positioned to exploit some of the key trends in the WCM market” and promotes Oracle’s strengths as the “ability to integrate UCM well with its own suite of business applications... In addition, its adoption of service-oriented architecture (SOA) promotes easier integration with third-party components through a standardized interface.”
Fishbowl has worked with a variety of customers to implement Oracle’s WCM solution along with our own software solutions. Each implementation has improved the user experience, created easier administration, and provided a swift ROI.
Bridge the Gap Between Oracle UCM Security and Your Enterprise Security Model |
Advanced User Security Mapping 6.0 adds support for single sign-on, allowing companies to now integrate UCM with their single sign-on product such as: CA Siteminder, Sun Access Manager, Tivoli Access Manager, Oracle's Identity Management Suite (formerly Entrust and Oblix), and others.
Before the release of Advanced User Security Mapping 6.0, companies looking to integrate Oracle UCM with LDAP, AD, and single sign-on have had few choices – each requiring customization. Unlike other Oracle UCM components, a single sign-on integration is not written using java and iDoc script alone. Instead, the solution requires knowledge of web server and request processing in addition to a deep understanding of how UCM can be extended to take advantage of request information.
Advanced User Security Mapping allows for simple configuration of the UCM and single sign-on integration, without requiring consulting services.

HCMC Leverages Subscription Notifier to Save Money |
Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) manages thousands of contracts between vendors, service providers, and partners. Contracts range from agreements with food service vendors, to medical staff, to building maintenance services, and more. Not only are the contracts extremely diverse in nature, but they also have unique terms and conditions including expiration dates. Without a system, maintaining HCMC’s contracts was extremely manual and left lots of room for improvement. One area of opportunity was in contract negotiation. By renegotiating terms and conditions prior to expiration, the Medical Center might be able to get better rates. Similarly, they needed to know about termination prior to the end of a contract so they could make proper arrangements.
HCMC partnered with Fishbowl to leverage Subscription Notifier in their contract management process and notify contract owners to take action before a contract's expiration, allowing them to negotiate better rates with their vendors.
