Director of Sales

The Director of Sales will be a member of the Executive team and set the pace for the growth of the organization. The individual will manage a team of talented account executives targeted to sell into defined territories and/or vertical markets of existing and new accounts. A one-of-a-kind opportunity, this position includes hiring and coaching of a world-class enterprise sales team, pipeline development, strategic planning, account management, accurate forecasting and consistent achievement of defined sales quota. This is a unique role in that you will be working closely with Marketing, Services and Product Management to execute on strategic plans and sales campaigns.

As Fishbowl’s Director of Sales, a typical day might include the following:

  • Collaborating with the Sales team and Solution Consultants to creatively solve customer business problems with innovative technologies – like Chatbots
  • Brainstorming with the Sales team to position an Enterprise Search offering to index 5 million content items to drive new Medical offerings
  • Working with the Sales team to keep everyone focused on the most impactful activities on a daily/weekly basis
  • Motivating and challenging the Sales team to set targets and celebrating achievement of the targets
  • Facilitating continuous improvement of the Sales team through teaching, coaching, and mentoring activities like role playing and win/loss analysis
  • Working with the Services team to creatively position our capabilities to win a sales pursuit
  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Executive teams to design and develop targeted marketing campaigns and ensuring the Sales team faithfully executes those campaigns in a timely manner

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the overall growth and quality of the company by being a high-functioning member of the Executive team
  • Create high-quality quarterly and annual sales plans, with effective measures, to achieve company, team, and individual goals
  • Work with various groups within the company to design, develop, and execute marketing initiatives and provide “the voice of the customer” by actively gathering customer feedback
  • Plan, manage, hire, train, and coach employees to ensure the appropriate number of sales staff are deployed and successful
  • Continuously improve and grow the Sales Playbook while ensuring that it is “followed by all”
  • Monitor, manage, and impact the performance of the Sales team to achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
  • Align the actions of the Sales team with company objectives while maintaining acceptable levels of expense control
